Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Home City –  Athens

Depart from home city to Athens, the capital and largest city of Greece.

Day 2: Athens

Athens is widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization. Upon arrival at airport, transfer to hotel. (D)

Hotel: Divani Acropolis Hotel or similar

Day 3: Athens ( city tour ) – Parthenon – Plaka

Morning tour in city. Proceed to visit one of the world’s Seventh wonders, Parthenon, built in 447 B.C. and dedicated to Athena. Later visit the oldest Olympic Stadium of the world and the changing of the guards. The final stop will be the Constitution Square and Plaka. The rest of the day is free at leisure.Typical dinner with grilled meats in Taztziki sauce. (B/D)

Day 4: Athens – Aegean Cruise – Mykonos

Embark the cruise ship. We sail to Mykonos an island full of fantastic beaches with white sands, whitewashed houses with blue wooden shutters and narrow streets to stroll around. One can explore this island by joining optional tours. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Kusadasi – Patmos

The ship docks at Kusadasi. An optional tour to Ancient Ephesus is highly recommended or perhaps you walk around this colorful town on your own. Late afternoon arrival in Patmos and explore the Monastery of St John with the optional tour. (B/L/D)

Day 6: Heraklion(Crete) – Santorini

Arrival at Heraklion, Crete in the morning. One can leisurely roam the old town or join the optional tour visiting Knossos to see the ruins of the Palace of King Minos. In the afternoon anchor in Santorini where you can experience a fantastic journey up the caldera by cable car or donkey or foot. (B/L/D)

Day 7: Athens – Epidaurus – Nafplion – Mycenae – Olympia

After disembarkation at Athens. Coach to Epidaurus. Visit the Sanctuary of Asclepius and the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. Later we transfer to the picturesque town of Nafplion for a short stop. Continue to Mycenae. Walk through the Lion Gate, see the giant Cyclopean Walls and explore the remains of the Royal Palace and the Beehive shaped Tombs. Heading west toward Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games in 776BC for overnight. (B/D)

Day 8: Olympia ( city tour ) – Patras – Delphi

Morning visit the ancient Olympic stadium and the Temples of Zeus king of the Gods and Hera’s temple – wife of Zeus. Drive north to Patras. Then on to Delphi, home of the legendary oracle the most revered site of ancient Greece and considered to be the navel of the world.Local dinner with Greek dessert. (B/D)

Day 9: Delphi ( city tour ) – Athens

Our sightseeing this morning includes the visit to the most important Site in the Classical world. Walk along the sacred way lined by the treasuries of the ancient city states to the site of the Oracle in the temple of Apollo. Then, return to Athens for traditional stewed beef dinner. (B/D)

Day 11: Athens Home City

Transfer to airport for a pleasant homeward flight. (B)
